Recently, in order to provide our viewers with the best possible experience across our most used devices, we've had to make the decision to remove the SBS On Demand app from the following BluRay/DMR devices:
2015 DMR-HWT250GL
2015 DMR-PWT550GL
2015 DMR-BWT750GL
2015 DMR-BWT955GL
2016 DMR-HWT260GN
2016 DMR-PWT560GN
2016 DMR-BWT760GN
2017 DMR-UBT1GL
2016 DMP-UB900GN
2017 DMP-UB400GN
2017 DMP-UB300GN
The reasoning behind this is that unfortunately, the operating systems of these devices do not support our most recent ad technology, and do not provide the premium, curated experience our viewers expect and that we’re committed to providing. The app will be decommissioned on these devices on 28 September, 2021.
Although the app will be removed from your device, there are lots of ways in which you can continue to access SBS On Demand:
- You can plug your laptop or mobile device into your TV using an HDMI cable.
- You can 'mirror' or AirPlay from your macOS, iOS, or iPadOS device’s browser.
- You can plug in an Amazon Fire TV Stick, Google Chromecast or use a set-top box with the SBS On Demand app available across Apple TV, Android TV, Fetch, Foxtel iQ and Telstra TV.
