An account is required to access programs on SBS On Demand. After signing up, you will receive an email with a link that you need to click to verify your account before you can start watching.
Creating an account with SBS on Demand is free, quick and easy. To set up an account, you'll need to share a:
- First name
- Birth year
- Gender
- Valid email address and
- A password of your choosing which must contain a minimum of 5 letters and a number

To create an account via the SBS On Demand website, simply visit: https://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/ and click on "Create Account" in the top right hand corner.
You'll then be prompted for your account information.
Once the above details have been entered, click on "Create Account" and you'll see a notification advising an email has been sent to your inbox to verify your account.
Please check your spam and junk inboxes for the verification email.
Once you locate the email, click on the "Activate your account" link in the email to verify your account.
Smart TV application
After scanning the QR code on your TV screen, tap the create account button on your mobile.
- First name
- Email address
- Password - your chosen password must be at least 5 characters with a number
- Birth year
- Gender
You'll need to verify your email address by tapping on the verification link sent to your nominated email address
Tap "Sign In" to complete the registration process.
iOS and Android applications
- Tap on the "profile icon" at the top of our SBS On Demand application.
- Select "Create An Account"
- Follow the prompts to create a new account.
You can now go ahead and sign in to SBS On Demand! Happy viewing!
Didn't receive an email to activate your account?
- Check your spam or junk folders. The email may take up to a minute to arrive.
- Double-check the email address you used to sign up for SBS On Demand. Make sure all characters were entered correctly in the email field.
