SBS uses a range of voices to narrate audio description on SBS programmes. This includes synthetic voices, which are used on acquired factual programming only. All other audio description narration on commissioned and acquired content is produced using human voices, including a commitment to using culturally appropriate voices wherever possible. All SBS in-house programming is audio described using human voices.
Selected programs and movies on the SBS On Demand catalogue are currently available with audio description. We aim to grow the number of these over time.
