SBS On Demand uses adaptive streaming for videos, meaning that the stream is served dependent on the bandwidth available. All videos will begin on a low bitrate but should quickly move up to a higher bitrate if available. Other streaming services may work differently.
SBS On Demand performs best on high-speed broadband connections such as NBN, ADSL2+, or 4G and 5G mobile networks. Slower connections, including some satellite internet services, may not provide sufficient bandwidth for streaming video.
If you are using Wi-Fi, ensure your device has a strong signal. Performance may be affected if your device is far from the modem or if obstacles such as walls and closed doors interfere with the connection. Where possible, we recommend using a wired network connection.
Playback performance may also be impacted if other devices or applications on your network are using the internet at the same time, including backup or download services.
