Under the SBS Code of Practice, SBS follows the advertising restrictions in the Commercial Television Industry Code of Practice which relate to the timing and placement of advertisements, including in relation to particular product categories on SBS’s television broadcasting services. The SBS Commercial, Funding and External Relationships Guidelines provide that decisions about the placement of advertising in program breaks will have regard to program content and context and the likely viewing audience (Guideline 4.9).
