The video player and controls within the SBS On Demand app have been through a major update. There are now two new arrows in the player controls. The left arrow will allow you "restart" the program, and the right arrow will allow you to "skip" to the next episode in a series when available.
There are no icons in the new player bar to fast-forward or rewind a program. Instead, these functions are now controlled using your TV remote. Here is a detailed guide on how to fast-forward or rewind a program.
To make the player bar or controls appear, you'll need to press on the up arrow on your TV remote. The player/pause icon will be highlighted in yellow.
To fast-forward a video
- Press the up arrow on your TV remote. A marker (or dot) on the timeline will turn yellow to show it’s selected.
- Press the right arrow to skip forward in 15-second increments.
- Press and hold the right arrow to skip forward in larger increments (up to one minute).
- Press OK (or Enter) to resume playback.
To rewind a video
- Press the up arrow on your TV remote. A marker (or dot) on the timeline will turn yellow to show it’s selected.
- Press the left arrow to move backwards in 15-second increments.
- Press and hold the left arrow to rewind backwards in larger increments (up to one minute).
- Press OK (or Enter) to resume playback.
