When signing into the SBS On Demand app on an Android or Google TV, you may see a "permission request". The request is native to Android & Google TV devices and not the SBS On Demand app. These permissions can be managed anytime within your device's "Settings" > "App Permissions".
The SBS On Demand app offers the option to sign into your account with your Google email address (System Email), which provides additional functions while using your device. If you sign in using your Google account, you may be asked to Allow Access to your Contacts. This happens when using other Google features including Google Assist and while casting from your mobile or tablet device.
You can decline access first off or change this in your device's settings later by going to: "Settings" > "App Settings" > select the SBS On Demand app and "Remove Permissions".
If you sign into the SBS On Demand app with your regular email address and password by selecting "Enter Email", Contact access will not be requested from Google.
The SBS On Demand app also uses audio for voice search. If you deny microphone access, voice search will not be available within the app. You can update this setting anytime by going to your device's "Settings" > "App Permissions" and selecting SBS On Demand.
